Guest UNIMI: Oxford University Orchestra and Orchestre Sorbonne Université

With a view to consolidating a synergic network between important musical realities of major European universities, this month the Orchestra UNIMI will host, one week apart, the Oxford University Orchestra and the Orchestre Sorbonne Université.

On Sunday 10 March at 6 p.m., in the Aula Magna of the University of Milan, the Oxford University Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 in D major op. 73 under the baton of Cayenna Ponchione-Bailey.

On Sunday 17 March, again at 6 p.m. in the Aula Magna, it will be the turn of the Orchestre Sorbonne Université, conducted by Nicolas Agullo and featuring the violinist Giulia Rimonda, soloist in Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, Op. 35; Dvorák’s Symphony No. 7 in D minor, Op. 70 completes the programme.

Reservations for the individual concerts will open, as usual, five days before the events, i.e. 5 March for the 10/03 concert HERE and 12 March for the 17/03 concert HERE.
