Michele Concato
Tenor, he received his first musical training in the Cappella Musicale di S.Petronio in Bologna. He graduated in singing from the Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara under the guidance of the baritone Garbis Boyadjian, and specialised with William Matteuzzi, Claudio Desderi, Laura Sarti, Cristina Guarino, Alessio Tosi, Jorge Ansorena and Sonia Tedla.
Active in the sacred and secular repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries, he collaborates with prestigious early music ensembles (A Sei Voci, Il Canto di Orfeo, Concerto, Il Continuo, DSG, Coro e Orchestra Ghislieri, Coro Maghini- Academia Montis Regalis, Melodi Cantores, La Stagione Armonica, Intende Voci Ensemble, I Turchini, Cappella Neapolitana, Orchestra Modo Antiquo, LaVenexiana, I Barocchisti), with whom he performed in important concert seasons (Musica Insieme, Ravenna Festival, Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, MiTo, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Pavia Barocca, Organi Antichi, Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Festival de la Chaise-Dieu, Festival de musique baroque d’Ambronay, Festival de Sablé-sur-Sarthe, Printemps des arts-Festival baroque de Nantes, Festival de Calenzana, Grand Théatre d’Angers, Saison musicale de Royaumont, Auditorium de l’Orchestre National de Lyon, Festival Oudemuziek Utrecht, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, George Enescu Festival, Valletta International Baroque Festival, Berliner Philharmonie, RSI).
He has sung as a soloist under the direction of F. M. Bressan, G. Capuano, A. Cremonesi, C. Desderi, B. Fabre-Garrus, A. Florio, M. Guadagnini, R. Jais, L. Magiera, G. Palomba, G. Prandi, C. Rovaris, E. Zanovello and participated, as a chorister, in productions conducted by I. Bolton, J. Conlon, O. Dantone, A. De Marchi, D. Fasolis, G. Gelmetti, R. Gini, C. Hogwood, E. Inbal, T. Koopman, G. Kuhn, Z. Mehta, R. Muti, H. Rilling, J. Tate, J. Valcuha.
He has performed a number of operatic roles, including the role of Pepicek in Brundibar by H. Kràsa, Liscione in the intermezzo La Dirindina by D. Scarlatti, the role of the shepherd in Oedipus Rex by I. Stravinsky, Ferrando in Così fan tutte and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart and Cecco in the opera Il mondo della luna by F. J. Haydn.
He took part in the recording of several CDs for the record companies Arts, Arcana, Cpo, Dynamic, Glossa, Sony, Studio SM, Tactus, Warner Classic, and for the magazines Amadeus and Classic Voice, under the direction of D. Bononcini, A. De Marchi, B. Fabre-Garrus, A. Florio, R. Gini, G. Kuhn, G. Prandi, E. Sartori, S. Toni, M. Vannelli.
