On the podium Alessandro Crudele and at the Polish pianist Ewa Kupiec for an intriguing program based on contrasts.
A first part devoted to the two Burlesques by Respighi and Richard Strauss will be followed by a completely contrasting second part, featuring Mark-Anthony Turnage’s “Lullaby for Hans” – written on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the recently deceased great composer Hans Werner Henze – and Schubert’s “Unfinished” symphony.
Ewa Kupiec is also highly regarded in Germany for her ability to explore lesser-known piano repertoire, both contemporary and by composers of the past. Her most recent recordings include the complete piano works of Lutoslawski published by Sony Classical.
