Vincenzo Parisi

The music of Vincenzo Parisi moves through seemingly distant worlds such as classical, psychedelic rock and popular song.
After graduating brilliantly in piano under the guidance of Irene Schiavetta and graduated in Economics, at the Bocconi University, founded the rockband Kafka On The Shore, with which he performs throughout Europe in almost 300 concerts in just 3 years with the album Beautiful But Empty, collaborating in the meantime with artists of the Italian pop-rock scene such as Nicolò Carnesi, Gianluca De Rubertis (Il Genio), Lo Stato Sociale, L’officina della camomilla, L’orso, Van Houtens, Mombao, Dada Sutra.

After the dissolution of the band, Vincenzo Parisi decided to return to his first great passion, the classical composition.

He studied composition first with Fabio Vacchi and currently with Mario Garuti at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan.
He attended as an effective student the courses of specialization of High Musical Composition at the Accademia Filarmonica of Bologna held by Azio Corghi and Mauro Bonifacio. He also studied with Salvatore Sciarrino, Mark Andre, Francesco Filidei and Mauro Lanza (NewMusicWeek 2021, mdi ensemble in residence), Beat Furrer, Ramon Lazkano (Mixtur 2021, Barcelona), Benet Casablancas, Martin Matalon, Achim Bornhoeft.

Finalist in the international competition Macerata Opera Festival 2019 for the writing of a musical theater work together with the Hungarian director Hannah Gelesz, with the jury chaired by the composer Giorgio Battistelli.

In 2020 he released the album Zolfo, performed on the solo piano and recorded live during a performance in the Ballarò district of Palermo. The work is the result of years of research and study on ancient Sicilian music mixed and filtered by contemporaneity.
In June 2021 he won the 1st prize at the Composition Competition of the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan. In October 2021 he won the 1st prize at the Jorge Peixinho International Composition Competition organized by the historical Grupo Contemporaneo de Musica de Lisboa in Portugal, with national live on Antena2 of his quintet Fulmine randagio (Ava Musical Editions).

He is the winner of the Call For Scores 2021 called by the Collana Discografica 19’40” founded by Enrico Gabrielli (Calibro35, Afterhours), Sebastiano De Gennaro and Francesco Fusaro.

The year 2022 sees the debut of his music at the Sala Verdi of the Conservatory of Milan with the piece for orchestra entitled Colombre and at the Fabbrica del Vapore guest of the Festival di Milano Musica with the soliloquy for ensemble and voice entitled C’est quoi le sexe.

He composed the soundtrack for the worldwide advertising launch of Utopia, the new and highly anticipated supercar model by Pagani Automobili.
