On Tuesday 7th March 2017, at 9:00 pm, in the great hall of La Statale Milan University, the Orchestra UniMi, conducted by ALESSANDRO CRUDELE, will play one of the masterpiece of the literature for violin : the Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto E minor. NATASHA KORSAKOVA soloist.
It will follow the usual contemporary piece that Orchestra UniMi (the only one in Italy) plays in each concert. In this case Manhattan Broadcasts, written between 1962 and 1964 by at that time twenty years old Viennese composer HK GRUBER. Manhattan Broadcasts, –as title and orchestra score – with a large rythm section and an electric guitar – suggest, evoke jazz and swing atmospheres, unusual for our concerts. As often happens, also this piece will be performed as Italian premiere.
And let us not miss anything in terms of rhythmic component and original timbre combinations, the concert will end with the Suite Pulcinella by Igor Stravinskij.
Free admission for all 2016/2017 season concerts upon registration here.
The entrance is allowed until seats are available.
