Christmas Concert closes the 2024 Season

On Tuesday 17 December, the Orchestra UNIMI will greet its audience in the Aula Magna for a Christmas concert together with the Choir of the University of Milan. The concert will be conducted by Marco Berrini, director of the Choir, and will begin with a performance of the Oratorio de Noël, op. 12 by Camille Saint-Saëns. This will be followed by three Christmas Carols for mixed choir and strings, in Mauro Zuccante’s transcription: Ecco la nuova stella (from a Veneto folk song), O little town of Bethlehem (from a traditional Christmas song by P. Brooks and R. Vaughan Williams) and Jingle Bells (from a traditional American Christmas song by J. Pierpont). Soloists, Monica Bertolini soprano, Giovanna De Marcellis mezzo-soprano, Claudia Tocco contralto, Nunzio Borra tenor and Marco Cazzuffi baritone.
