Hankyeol Yoon makes his Milan debut with the Orchestra UNIMI

On Tuesday 27 February, at 8.30 p.m., the Orchestra UNIMI returns to the Aula Magna of the University of Milan for the traditional concert in collaboration with the G. Verdi Conservatory of Milan, featuring the euphonium performance of the overall winner of the Conservatory Prize 2022, Marina Boselli (b. 1998). For the occasion, the winner of the Conservatorio’s Composition Prize, Leonardo Damiani (b. 1991), has composed a piece for euphonium and orchestra, Un azzurro intenso, senza pietà, in its world premiere performance.

The young South Korean conductor Hankyeol Yoon (born in 1994), last year’s winner of the Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award, will take the podium for his Milan debut. He will also conduct Mendelssohn’s Suite from A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Ouverture, Nocturne and Scherzo) and Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 in D major K 504 ‘Prague’.

The concert will be preceded, at 7.15 p.m., by a conversation between the artists and Francesco Antonioni, – composer, cultural divulger and radio presenter.
