The Orchestra UNIMI returns in the Church of San Carlo al Lazzaretto (Largo Fra Paolo Bellintani 1, Milan) in collaboration with the ‘Organ and…’ Festival.
Giovanni Battista Mazza will conduct the string orchestra in Giacomo Puccini’s little-known Scherzo in A minor (from the Quartet in D); also rarely performed is Marco Enrico Bossi’s Concerto for organ, string orchestra, horns and timpani in A minor op. 100, which will be performed with the young organist Aleksandr Volkov as soloist. Edvard Grieg’s Holberg Suite op. 40 ends the programme.
Due to the capacity of the church, the concert on 6 February will be held at 7 p.m., with a repeat performance at 9 p.m.
We recommend our kind audience to book only if absolutely certain of attending the concert. In recent months we are unfortunately noticing people cancelling their reservations. This habit excludes other people who are interested in our concerts (e.g. those who read the news in the newspapers on the day of the concert) and cannot make a reservation because the system registers a ‘sold-out’. We therefore kindly ask for your special attention to this aspect, for which we thank you very much in advance.
