Simone Moschitz on stage with Sebastiano Rolli

On 22 February 2022, at 8:30 p.m., the third symphonic concert of the 2021/2022 season of the Orchestra UniMi will be held in the Aula Magna of the Università Statale. The concert will open with a chamber piece in its first Italian performance, Serenata per Luisa by Bruno Maderna (1920-1973), another precious fruit of the collaboration between Orchestra UniMi and Associazione NoMus. Sebastiano Rolli will conduct the Orchestra in the Ouverture from Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy‘s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and will then lead it alongside the young Friulian saxophonist Simone Moschitz, already awarded the 2018 Milan Conservatory Prize and the 2019 Paolo Mantegazza Prize, who will offer his eagerly awaited performance of Scaramouche op. 165c suite for saxophone and orchestra by Darius Milhaud, a performance twice postponed in past seasons due to Covid-19. Finally, Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished” will be performed.

The concert will be preceded at 7.15 p.m. by a conversation between Sebastiano Rolli, Simone Moschitz and Luca Ciammarughi.
