On 17th October our twentieth season resumes

After the extraordinary concerts in July at the University Great Hall and during the Estate Sforzesca Festival, and the MITO Festival in September, the Orchestra UniMi is ready to resume the concerts of its twentieth season, postponed due to the sanitary emergency.

The first appointment is set for Saturday 17th October 2020, at 20:30, at the Sala Verdi of the Conservatory of Milan, for the concert originally scheduled for 26 May. ALESSANDRO CRUDELE will be on the podium, while GERHARD OPPITZ returns to the solo piano after a few years.

The program embraces three different periods of the German musical world, from the late Romanticism of the Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor” by BEETHOVEN to the Variations on a theme by Haydn by BRAHMS, up to the contemporaneity of Ghost Song by CHRISTIAN JOST (Italian premiere).

The modalities of admission to the Sala Verdi for this concert will be announced soon.

The Orchestra UniMi in Milan and Turin for MITO Festival 2020

This year, for the first time, the Orchestra UniMi will be in concert for the MITO SettembreMusica Festival both in Milan and Turin. On the podium, ALESSANDRO CRUDELE; on piano, DAVIDE CABASSI.

The programme is dedicated to “heavenly music”:

Composers have always had a passion for depicting the sky. It is where the spirit dwells, a dancefloor for the clouds, heaven. Here are three awesome interpretations.

AARON JAY KERNIS: Musica Celestis
WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART: Piano Concerto in E flat major K. 449 (author’s version for string orchestra)
EDWARD ELGAR: Serenade for strings op. 20

The Milanese concert will be held on Monday 14 September 2020 at 16:30 at Teatro Dal Verme. Tickets, at a cost of € 5.00, are on sale here.

The Turin concert will be held the following day, Tuesday 15 September, at 4:00 pm in the Hall of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory. Tickets, always at a cost of € 5.00, are on sale here.

On July 28th we will participate for the first time in the Estate Sforzesca

In its twentieth year, the Orchestra UniMi, conducted by Alessandro Crudele, participates for the first time in the Estate Sforzesca. The “classic” programme proposes the Symphony n. 3 by SCHUBERT, in which the Austrian composer’s youthful exuberance and communicative immediacy set off towards the drama of the more mature period. In the second part, it celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of BEETHOVEN, with the Symphony no. 1 in C major, with its unceasing dialogue of materials and the bursting start of a new compositional era.

The concert will be held on July 28th, 2020 at 9 pm at the Sforza Castle in Milan. Tickets on sale >>> HERE.
