Coro Facoltà di Musicologia

Coro Facoltà di Musicologia was officially founded in 2002 within the then Faculty of Musicology (now the Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage) of the University of Pavia, Cremona campus. The group, which has been an association since its foundation, is formed by students of the Department and aims to offer its members a choral experience that combines musicological training with musical practice, as well as a rich human and associative experience. Its concert programmes, which focus in particular on the Renaissance and 20th century repertoire, are often enriched with unpublished works or works by little-known composers, due to the close connection with the Department’s research activities. In almost twenty years of activity, the Choir has performed in important Italian and foreign centres (in Germany, France, Croatia and Finland), in various festivals and reviews, often realising projects and exchanges with other choirs, professional groups or soloists. In addition to its concert engagement, the ensemble plays an institutional role in the academic life of the University of Pavia and its seat in Cremona. It has to its credit a monographic CD for Brilliant Classics (2014) and a recent album published by Da Vinci Publishing (Mater Alma. New Music Around Ave Maris Stella).
