On May 31, as per tradition, the Orchestra UniMi will close its season in the Sala Verdi of the Conservatory of Music of Milan.
Due to personal reasons, Maestro John Axelrod will not be able to conduct the concert as announced in the press conference and will be replaced by Maestro Daniel Smith. The CMO and the Protegé Prize have been cancelled as a result.
Daniel Smith thus returns to conduct the Orchestra UniMi , in a programme that will offer the audience Robert Schumann‘s Overture, Scherzo and Finale, the Piano Concerto in A minor – also by Schumann, with 2019 Conservatory Prize soloist Diego Petrella – and Felix Mendelssohn‘s Italian Symphony No. 4, in the 1834 version.
The 8:30 p.m. concert will be preceded at 7:15 p.m. by a conversation between the artists and Andrea Estero.
Reservations required starting May 26: https://www.eventbrite.it/e/223329654007
We would like to remind you that in the foyer there will be, on the initiative of the State University and UNIMI Foundation, a fundraising desk for Save The Children’s ‘Druzi’ project, which involves volunteers in the university community who know Ukrainian and Russian languages and are engaged in educational and relational support for young people, children and adolescents, who have fled Ukraine due to war and arrived in Italy.
