On May 4th we come back with Ahmed El-Saedi and Fabiola Tedesco

On Tuesday 4 May, the Orchestra UniMi resumes its symphonic season with a concert conducted by Ahmed El-Saedi, artistic director of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. The programme features a world premiere, Facing, composed especially for the occasion by Andrea Benedetto, winner of the 2019 Milan Conservatory Prize. This will be followed by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy‘s Violin Concerto in E minor Op. 64: the soloist is Fabiola Tedesco, one of the most interesting Italian musicians of her generation, winner of the Daniele Gay Prize 2019. Finally, Camille Saint-Saëns‘ Symphony No. 2 in A minor Op. 55, will close the concert.

We are waiting for the new Government provisions on the possible reopening to the audience; otherwise, the concert will be available in live streaming at 7 p.m. on video.unimi.it.

On Tuesday 23 March 2021, in the University of Milan Great Hall, the Orchestra UniMi will held its third concert of the 21st season: Daniel Raiskin, principal conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and musical director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, will be on the podium for the first time, replacing our principal guest conductor Bojan Sudjic, who is unable to travel to Italy due to Covid restrictions.

The concert partially re-proposes the programme canceled in February 2020 due to Covid-19: the Symphony n. 3 by Franz Schubert and Scaramouche by Darius Milhaud, with saxophonist Simone Moschitz (2018 Conservatory Prize and Paolo Mantegazza 2019 Prize). In addition, the Orchestra UniMi will perform Action-Passion-Illusion by Erkki-Sven Tüür.

The concert will be live-streamed at 7 pm on video.unimi.it.
