On November 22nd at 9:00 p.m., in the great hall of La Statale University, we will open our 17th season.
The concert, conducted by our artistic director, Alessandro Crudele, will suggest the Symphony No. 2 by ROBERT SCHUMANNand the Double Concerto by FELIX MENDELSSOHN, for Violin, Piano and string orchestra. Soloists, our Concertmaster, Daniela Cammarano and, at piano, Alessandro Deljavan. They will be the same soloists, together with the orchestra, of the two world premiere of the concert by the young composer ALESSANDRO APPIGNANI: “Lì fra le stelle” and “Din Don”.

On Tusday 31st May at 9:00 p.m., in the Sala Verdi of the Conservatoire of Milan, we will perform the last concert of our 16th Season.
Programme: Beethoven’s Symphonie No. 5 and, as Italian premiere, the Piano Concerto B-flat major (1850) by the forgotten German composer Emilie Mayer.
Soloist EWA KUPIEC, after three years, again with Orchestra UniMi.

Thursday 5th May, 9:00 p.m., in the Great Concert Hall of La Statale University, the new-born Ensemble Accademico UniMi – the Academy of the Orchestra UniMi – brings to end its first musical season with a concert which suggests the Symphony No. 104, D Major, “London” by FRANZ JOSEPH HAYDN and the Symphony No. 1, C Major Op. 21 by LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN.

The original programme suggests the transcription of the Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 for flute, violin, cello and piano, by Johann Hummel, the Brillant Variations for piano six hands, by Carl Czerny, on a theme of the opera “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” by Vincenzo Bellini and the Suite “Scaramouche” by Darius Milhaud.

On Tuesday 5th April 2016 at 9:00 p.m., in the Great Concert Hall of La Statale University (via Festa del Perdono 7), the British JAMIE PHILLIPS – Associate Conductor at The Hallé Orchestra Manchester and Dudamel Fellow at Los Angeles Philharmonic – makes his “début” in Milan with ORCHESTRA UNIMI and a rich program which suggests the Clarinet Concerto by MOZART (soloist ELENA SALE, student at the Milan Conservatory and winner of the Paolo Mantegazza Prize’s 2015 edition, promoted by Orchestra UniMi), the Rumanian Folk Dances by BARTÓK, the BEETHOVEN’s Symphony No. 8 and, as Italian Premiere, Con brio, by the German composer JÖRG WIDMANN.

Next 8 March the Orchestra UniMi celebrateS the Woman’s Day 2016 reinviting, after 6 years, the chinese WING-SIE YIP, Music Director of the HONG-KONG SINFONIETTA.
The program proposes the Concerto in D by STRAVINSKIJ, the Symphony No. 41, K. 551, C major (Jupiter) by MOZART and, as world premiere, For Lo, a Phoenix Lone Cleaves the Air by the Hong Kong composer HING-YAN CHAN, who will be in Milan. A piece for orchestra and sheng, a traditional chinese instrument, commissioned by the Chinese Music Virtuosi in 2016 with sponsorship from CASH Music Fund. Soloist SZE-WANG LOO.
9:00 p.m., Aula Magna Università Statale.

On 9 March at 10.30 a.m., the two artists and the composer will take part in a meeting on the traditional and contemporary chinese music at the Confucius Institut of La Statale University (Sesto S. Giovanni, piazza Indro Montanelli 1).

After the happy début of 2015 at Teatro alla Scala in Lucio Silla and before her coming back on the stage of the same theatre in Entführung aus dem Serail, next 23 February the Dutch soprano LENNEKE RUITEN will sing the three most important Concerto Arias by Mozart – Ah lo previdi! KV 272, Vorrei spiegarvi oh Dio KV 418, Ah se in ciel, benigne stelle KV 538 – with ORCHESTRA UNIMI conducted by ALESSANDRO CRUDELE
The programme of the concert, which will take place at 9:00 pm in the aula magna of the Università Statale, includes the Symphonies No. 1 K.16 and No. 29 K.201 by Mozart too.
The usual piece by a living composer, this time suggested, is Canon & Fugue by the British George Benjamin, inspired by The art of fuge by Johann Sebastian Bach.
